Welcome to the website of Dr. Michelle Carr. I am a clinical psychologist licensed in the state of California.
I currently provide Telehealth services via Zoom, Skype or over the phone with California residents.
I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco.
My internship was at the Family Institute of Pinole where I received extensive training in family systems work, as well as the treatment of trauma and PTSD.
I am a Level II EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist.
My post-doctoral education was continued at Kaiser Permanente Chemical Dependency and Recovery Program in Oakland where I worked closely with those suffering from addiction. I provided individual and group therapy, and taught education classes on relapse prevention, dual diagnosis, co-dependency, and the effects of addiction on the brain, body, and spirit.
Additionally, I have worked as a counselor and group leader at Henry Ohlhoff House, a men's residential treatment program in San Francisco, and have taught men and women in residential treatment monthly at The Camp Recovery Center in Scotts Valley.
I currently work with children and teens suffering from mental illness and problems in school. I collaborate closely with parents, doctors, and the school system when necessary, to provide all around support.
I work with teens and adults in the areas of depression, anxiety, OCD, addiction, and trauma.
I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Monterey Bay Psychological Association.
